Baltic-Ambers
In addition to frozen animals obtained from Siberia, a large number of fossils preserved in amber has also been discovered in Russia. These come from what’s known as Baltic amber, found in a wide area from Berlin in the west to the Ural mountains in the East. The great majority of Baltic amber dates from the Eocene Period (54 to 37 million years ago).
A large part of this amber lies in the Samland region, currently within the borders of Russia, and is found at an average depth of 25 meters (82 feet) to 40 meters (131 feet) beneath the surface. The stratum containing the amber is known as “blue earth.” Each 1000 kilograms (2204 pounds) of soil contains approximately 1 kilogram (2.2 pound)of amber, and only one part in every few hundred contains an inclusion. |

In order for inclusions to appear inside amber, two very important and consecutive processes take place once the living thing has been trapped in the resin. The first is hardening, due to cold or dryness. The second is the decay of the tissues of the creature trapped inside the resin. Fluids released during the course of this decay process assume a special structure by mixing with the resin fluid. The creature’s body is preserved inside a bubbly structure just like a balloon. In order for resin to transform into amber, it must go through a great many chemical and geological stages.
For scientists, inclusions in amber represent a major sphere of activity. Specimens of many living things get trapped at the moment of carrying food back to the nest, in a state of defense, trying to camouflage themselves, attempting to protect their young or releasing chemical substances to neutralize aggressors. And all these specimens represent proof that the characteristics possessed by living things have remained unchanged over millions of years-in other words, that no such process as evolution ever took place.
The Huffington Post Writer Nidhal Guessoum’s Errors Concerning Evolution
On 4 January, 2012, the U.S. news portal The Huffington Post carried an article titled “Does Islam forbid even studying evolution?” Written by Nidhal Guessoum, professor of physics and astronomy at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, the piece dealt with a recent report widely covered in the international media regarding the unwillingness of Muslim students in Great Britain to study evolution.
In the article, Guessoum appears to make a number of errors that in no way actually reflect the truth. The author’s errors can be listed as follows:
1. Guessoum claims that evolution is not denied in the Qur’an and espouses the error that Allah created the universe by way of evolution.
This is a very serious error that some other Muslims are also falling into. The Qur’an contains no information regarding or references to creation by evolution. To put it another way, not a single verse of the Qur’an supports the idea of living things having developed from one another and of there being an evolutionary link between them. On the contrary, it is revealed in the Qur’an that Allah created life and the universe in a single moment, in a miraculous manner, by telling them to “Be!” Allah is He Who created from nothing, in a manner and at a time of His choosing, using no previous models.
Almighty Allah has no need of any instruments, natural causes or stages in order to create – surely He is beyond that. This world is a place of testing, for which reason Allah has created everything in the universe in line with natural laws. But this does not mean that our Almighty Lord Himself needs these natural laws (surely Allah is beyond that). Our Almighty Lord is He Who needs nothing and is unfettered by any deficiencies.
The truth revealed in the Qur’an about the creation of the universe and life is that Allah simply willed and created the earth and heavens and all that lies between. Creation is a most easy matter for Allah. It is revealed in several verses of the Qur’an that creation takes place by Allah issuing the command “Be!” Some of these verses read as follows:
… Allah creates whatever He wills. When He decides on something, He just says to it, “Be!” and it is. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 47)Our Word to a thing when We desire it is just to say to it “Be!” and it is. (Surat an-Nahl, 40)It is He Who gives life and causes to die. When He decides on something, He just says to it, “Be!” and it is. (Surah Ghafir, 68)
The Muslim writer Nidhal Guessoum has clearly fallen into a serious error. In suggesting that creation took place by way of evolution Prof. Guessoum is clearly ignoring these verses. The fact is that the fundamental guides for anyone who believes in Allah and Islam are the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas). It is indisputably incompatible with the Qur’an to ignore the verses and maintain that Allah created by way of evolution when He reveals in the Qur’an that creation takes place by His issuing the command “Be!” A Muslim fears to commit such an offense against Allah and carefully avoids falling into any such error. It is to be hoped that Prof. Guessoum will grasp the fact of creation that Allah makes so clear in many verses and will abandon his error as a matter of urgency.
2. Another of the writer’s errors is that he interprets the creation of man from clay to mean that “man evolved from clay.”
This is also very definitely a major error. The fact that man was created from clay is no evidence or suggestion that he was created as the result of evolutionary stages. Verses that speak of creation from clay reveal, not that man evolved from clay, but that the tool employed in his creation shares the same basic elements as clay.
Examination of human tissue reveals the presence of a great many elements that exist on earth. Living tissues are 95% made up of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S), and there are a total of 26 elements in living tissues. The Arabic word“sulala” in the verse “We created man from an extract of clay” (Surat al-Mu’minun, 12), translated as “extract,” means “exemplary piece, the essence, fundamental or basic.” As we have seen, modern science confirms the reality set out in the Qur’an 1400 years ago by revealing that man was made from clay, consisting of elements such as carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur.

3. Another error the author makes is to claim that there is no account in the Qur’an about how the earth came into being.
It first needs to be made quite clear that the Qur’an is a true scripture sent down by Allah from His Presence as an explanation of all things. This essential characteristic of the Qur’an is set out as follows in verses:
… We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims. (Surat an-Nahl, 89)… We have not omitted anything from the Book… (Surat al-An’am, 38)
It is a fact known to anyone even with an average level of general culture that Allah reveals in the Qur’an a great many scientific and mathematical miracles and that such information is in complete agreement with the findings of modern science. Allah refers to the creation of the universe and living things in many verses of the Qur’an. Anyone who scans the Qur’an even briefly will immediately see these verses about creation. To say that, “the Qur’an contains no information on these subjects” when many of its verses refer to the creation of life and the universe is a violation of both reason and of good conscience.
On the other hand, it is most interesting how from the very outset the writer depicts the reference to “creation from clay” in the Qur’an as evidence of evolution. To put it another way, he tries to fabricate his own evidence for evolution from the Qur’an, while in another paragraph he says it is a mistake to make any scientific statement on the basis of the Qur’an. This shows that the author is contradicting himself here.
4. The author falls into the error of equating denial of evolution with a rejection of modernity and claims that the Islamic world has failed to attain modernity because of its rejection of evolution.
Modernity in the true sense can only be achieved through faith in Allah and living the kind of life He desires. Had our Prophet Muhammad (saas), the blessed Companions, all the other prophets from the past and all the believers who followed them been living today they would be the most modern people in the world. If the Muslim world is not living in a modern manner today, it is not because of their rejection of evolution, but because they live far removed from Allah and Islam. If they were to submit themselves to Allah and obey His commandments to the letter, then Allah would increase His blessings on the Muslim world and produce a glorious plenty and abundance, and would give them great power and ability in scholarship, technology, art and science. Under the leadership of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), Allah will increase these blessings still further, insha’Allah.
Yet despite this manifest truth, some Muslims admire the Western life far removed from Allah and religion and fall into the error of equating irreligion with modernity. They foolishly imagine that in order to be modern they need to develop a materialist mindset and ignorantly seek to prove themselves to sections of society that live irreligious lives by making concessions on matters of faith.
Such Muslims persist with that same defeatist behavior when it comes to evolutionists. The fact is, however, that it is not believers who should be defeatist, but evolutionists, who lack any scientific foundation or evidence with which to defend themselves. Evolutionists strive to keep their theory, to which they are devoted for purely ideological reasons, propped up by engaging in demagoguery and using psychological pressure to silence those opposed to them. That it because they are well aware of the impasses of the theory they espouse. It is for these reasons that they have for years been trying to cover those impasses up with scientific frauds. But the truth is now out, and falsehood has collapsed. People have seen that the theory of evolution is groundless and has been completely defeated in the face of scientific progress. The fact of the matter is that evolution is a theory that has collapsed, and the falsity of which anyone with even a primary school level of education can clearly see. 5. Another error made by the author regards the works published across the world by Mr. Adnan Oktar under the pen-name of Harun Yahya.
Everyone agrees that the works by Mr. Adnan Oktar on the subject of the damage done by Darwinism and the collapse of the theory of evolution in the face of modern science have had a huge positive impact. Tens of articles about Mr. Oktar’s success have been published in world-renowned scientific journals. Prof. Guessoum himself actually referred to the effect of Mr. Oktar’s campaign against evolution, albeit expressing his own opposition to it, in these words:
“… there are also strongly creationist positions in today’s Muslim culture, the clearest and strongest one being expressed by Harun Yahya and his group, who for the past decade or more have launched an aggressive campaign targeting Muslims throughout the world, including the UK and France, where lecture tours are organized and books (such as the infamous Atlas of Creation) are massively distributed either freely or in subsidized sales.”
The works of Mr. Oktar, which have attracted enormous global appreciation, are instrumental in many people coming to faith and many others growing in it.
Prof. Robert Davis, from Glasgow University, warned that the Scottish curriculum is “under pressure” of atheists like Richard Dawkins
The website of the Christian Institute reported that Robert Davis, an education expert from Glasgow University, warned that atheists like Richard Dawkins want to exclude other perspectives and make pressure for a one-sided perspective in the curriculum.
Prof. Robert Davis expressed the pressure of the atheist lobby on the Scottish curriculum thus:
“They want to exclude other perspectives and suggest they are not only wrong, but are invalid and should not be given any kind of space in learning and teaching. The atheist lobby has made a strong impact on schools and teachers and I think that has to be questioned.”
For years, Mr. Adnan Oktar has been expounding a worldwide dominion of Darwinism over schools and universities, and school administrations and even statesmen have been remaining silent against them. Both in his works and the interviews he granted to the press , both local and foreign, Mr. Oktar repeatedly expressed that the evolution has almost become an official ideology in every corner of the world. Though lacking any scientific evidence and wholly refuted in the scientific sense, the theory of evolution is taught in science lessons. A unilateral education is imposed on curriculum while the fact of Creation is entirely excluded. The fact is however, education needs to be free and Creation must have its place alongside the theory of evolution

Since Darwinists are unable to account for how a protein might have formed spontaneously, they claim that the beginning of life was “a first molecule capable of self-reproducing.” First of all, there is no such thing as a “self-reproducing molecule.” If this molecule was a protein, the smallest units inside the living cell, then it must be borne in mind that proteins themselves have no “self-reproductive” property. In order for a protein to be able to self-replicate, IT NEEDS
A FULLY EQUIPPED CELL.
Therefore, the idea of a “self-reproducing molecule” is totally fraudulent. It is impossible for a molecule not inside a living cell to be able to take in energy from the outside and use it to replicate itself. To refer to this as “an organization progressing toward life” is demagoguery and a deliberate distraction. “Organization progressing toward life” is a totally illogical term. The smallest living thing is “a CELL.” Only a cell and the structures inside it can self-reproduce. Only a cell can take in energy from the outside and use it. Only a cell can maintain its own existence through its own organelles and the energy it takes in from the outside.
To put it another way, there can be no supposed stages progressing from the inanimate toward life. LIFE CAN NEVER COME FROM SOMETHING INANIMATE. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. Perfection Is an Outcome Shown by Science and Prevails in All Living Structures
Darwinist claims have always been anything but scientific, and they have always used mere demagoguery and false evidence to prop their theories up. They deceive people by employing terminology that has nothing to do with the subject at hand, simply producing words without saying anything scientific at all. These are well-known evolutionist characteristics. But there has recently been another addition to Darwinists’ demagoguery.
Terms such as “perfect, magnificent, flawless,” used to emphasize the superior aspects of the structures in living things, alarm Darwinists. They respond by saying things like, “These are not scientific terms, they are personalized terms; there is no such thing as a perfect cell. What criteria are involved?”
The reason is this: Darwinists are aware that they cannot account in terms of the theory of evolution for the extraordinary order and behavior in living things, such as the golden ratio, symmetry, division of labor or planning. Their latest feeble move, a defense mechanism, is to attack these terms. In short,Darwinists are in such a wretched position as to suggest that the use of these terms is improper.
Why do Darwinists reject the concept of “perfection”?
“Perfection” is a scientific term because living structures exhibit a perfection that exceeds human abilities and sometimes even human comprehension. For example, the stages involved in plant photosynthesis are still not yet fully understood. no machine capable of making photosynthesis has thus far ever been constructed. We still do not fully understand how tiny birds weighing just a few grams can migrate thousands of kilometers, how they navigate, and where they obtain the strength to do this. The majestic nature of the order within the bee hive, how the regular hexagons in the honeycomb came about and the glory of the ventilation system in termite nests are all absolutely stunning.
In fact, Darwinists know perfectly well that the features in living things are perfect and that they cannot explain them in terms of evolution. But they still do all they can to reject the concept of “perfection.” The sole reason for this is that, in their eyes, it is impossible for there to be perfection in a structure they maintain came about by chance.
Chance cannot produce perfection. It cannot understand symmetry or the golden ratio. It cannot give rise to entire systems that engage in a division of labor at the molecular level, take precautions, leave no deficiencies and test for, and even correct, errors. All chance can produce is either nothing, or else deformed, twisted, irregular, crippled and sickly structures. That is why Darwinists are so alarmed by the use of words such as “perfect,” “extraordinary” and “flawless.”

Why do some life forms have a sonar system, and others not?
This is the kind of question that Darwinists, who are unwilling to admit the secret of the creation of life on Earth, frequently resort to.
The answer is this: The dolphin that possesses sonar is superior, in this respect, to human beings. Or a salamander that renews its organs is superior to humans in this regard.
In the same way there are perfections in the human body, some structures superior to those of humans have been created in other life forms. But Allah is the Creator of all different properties. If Allah wished, he could create them all in one single living thing. And that is indeed how the creation in paradise will be. People will possess all kinds of attributes, superiority, flawlessness and immortality in paradise. It is sufficient to know of the dolphin’s sonar to appreciate the sublimity of Allah. It is sufficient to know that the salamander renews its own organs to appreciate that Allah is mighty enough to do this. The absence of these properties in humans is because they are tested in this world.
People will be tested with deficiencies and will thus desire paradise, or flawlessness, to put it another way. To fail to see the purpose here and say, “There are flaws in this world, nothing is flawless,” means to fail to appreciate the reason for the creation of man. The greatest proof we are given about Allah’s creative artistry is the perfection we see just about everywhere in the universe. We can see from this evidence that our Almighty Creator is powerful enough to do all things, that He will create the entity He wishes with the superior qualities He wishes, and that he will create all these and more in paradise.
Perfections are a great blessing for us. Perfections are facts shown us by science. Perfections only disturb Darwinists because every perfection undermines the theory of evolution. Every new marvel that emerges as science advances will continue to undermine the theory of evolution, and Darwinists will continue to be troubled by these perfections. What we of course wish, is for them, too, to delight in these perfections and properly and sincerely appreciate our Almighty Lord, the Creator of all things.

- Proteins serve very different functions inside the cell. Every protein knows where to go and what to do at the moment it comes into being. One enfolds DNA, another indicates the location of the code in protein synthesis, one becomes a hormone and permits communication while another becomes an enzyme and catalyzes reactions. Darwinists can never succeed in performing one of the jobs of one of the thousands of proteins inside the cell. FURTHERMORE, THEY CAN NEVER EXPLAIN HOW A SINGLE PROTEIN MIGHT HAVE FORMED. Such a structure that so exceeds human abilities is, in a word, perfect.
- DNA is a work of art. Some two meters long and divided into 46 chromosomes, it is folded into the cell nucleus a mere one to two microns in size using the most complex folding technique in the world. It is enzymes and proteins that do this folding. If Darwinists claim there is no perfection in this, then they have to be able to do something similar, or at least make a copy of it.
- The chloroplast inside a leaf performs photosynthesis, the mechanism of which we still do not fully understand, with an amazing expertise. If Darwinists maintain that this system is not perfect, they need to be able to make a copy or to be able to do something similar.
- A moon fish living in Antarctica can survive at temperatures as low as minus 56 degrees and dive down to great depths. Yet it is unaffected by sudden and intense changes in pressure, because in contrast to many mammals, its respiratory tract is flat-oval in shape, rather than round, and is capable of immediately closing under high pressure. It can also close its lungs instantaneously. This characteristic is perfection.
- A seed can store and never forget all the information for a flower, a fruit or a tree. If Darwinists claim there is no perfection in this, then they need to explain how the seed can store all this information and how it can be preserved for hundreds or even thousands of years.
- A hummingbird’s heart beats between 500 and 1,200 times per minute throughout the day. At night, however, it slows down so much that its heartbeat literally stops, and the bird seems not to be breathing at all. These birds expend more energy, for their size, then a modern passenger jet. If we were to expend an equivalent amount of energy, our body temperature would rise to 400 degrees and we would have to consume 45 kilos of sugar every day in order to meet that energy need. It is wondrous how this tiny animal does what is impossible for a human being.
- Darwinists need to be able to account for a bat’s sonar system, bees’ navigational abilities, a bacteria’s ability to perform chemical separation, the way a scorpion can withstand ultraviolet rays, the way a salamander can renew its own organs and all the countless characteristics in living things, in terms of evolution. But since they cannot do that, living things possess superior structures to human beings and these are all amazing properties. And these show us “perfection, glory and flawlessness.”
A Response to Darwinists Who Refuse to Admit the Secret of the Creation of Life on Earth:Why do some life forms have a sonar system, and others not?
This is the kind of question that Darwinists, who are unwilling to admit the secret of the creation of life on Earth, frequently resort to.
The answer is this: The dolphin that possesses sonar is superior, in this respect, to human beings. Or a salamander that renews its organs is superior to humans in this regard.
In the same way there are perfections in the human body, some structures superior to those of humans have been created in other life forms. But Allah is the Creator of all different properties. If Allah wished, he could create them all in one single living thing. And that is indeed how the creation in paradise will be. People will possess all kinds of attributes, superiority, flawlessness and immortality in paradise. It is sufficient to know of the dolphin’s sonar to appreciate the sublimity of Allah. It is sufficient to know that the salamander renews its own organs to appreciate that Allah is mighty enough to do this. The absence of these properties in humans is because they are tested in this world.
People will be tested with deficiencies and will thus desire paradise, or flawlessness, to put it another way. To fail to see the purpose here and say, “There are flaws in this world, nothing is flawless,” means to fail to appreciate the reason for the creation of man. The greatest proof we are given about Allah’s creative artistry is the perfection we see just about everywhere in the universe. We can see from this evidence that our Almighty Creator is powerful enough to do all things, that He will create the entity He wishes with the superior qualities He wishes, and that he will create all these and more in paradise.
Perfections are a great blessing for us. Perfections are facts shown us by science. Perfections only disturb Darwinists because every perfection undermines the theory of evolution. Every new marvel that emerges as science advances will continue to undermine the theory of evolution, and Darwinists will continue to be troubled by these perfections. What we of course wish, is for them, too, to delight in these perfections and properly and sincerely appreciate our Almighty Lord, the Creator of all things.
